Beth's Graduation Is A Wonderful Time For All!!

A beautiful day in beautiful Elk Horn, Iowa. All the big shots were there. It was a lot of fun to see everyone, especially the little kids. Lots of bull being passed around. Baseball was a hot topic. (I know I got some tips from Brad to help my fantasy team out) Everyone was in a fine mood. Great to see June and Peg, they are looking super. I didn't realize they celebrated their wedding anniversary the day before. Super food, as always. (Nancy claimed she didn't fix anything, just friends did.) Wow, some friends. I really enjoyed the short graduation service and how the students were the focal point most of the time. Beth sure made everyone proud with her poise, grace and speaking ability. (I am glad Dad finally got off the computer so she could write her speech) I did think I was sitting through an advertisement for the Washington DC trip at times, and was looking for the hat they were passing around. It sure brings back memories of how fun it was to go to a small school. I know our seniors had no trip, anywhere. Never have that I know of. Reminded me a lot of GHS, where a mediocre student with mediocre talent could think he was pretty hot stuff. Mandy and family were sure beaming from the previous day's success. Nice to see everyone smile so much. Dale and Barb took numerous pictures. Doug was in charge of the video. Dale has been showing his photos around the web and they really are good. Barb (always the center of attention) took over 200 pictures, but I just put some in this slide show. The marvel of digital photography. Who would believe that DBT would ever be interested in photos? I think these open houses are the first sign of summer for us teachers. Reality is setting in. It's like opening day, the crack of the bat, the smell of the hot dogs. Man, summer.....almost here. Thanks to all for a great Sunday afternoon. Ray and Violet (Barb's folks) had a great time and it was fun watching to see if Ray or Dale had the most strawberry desserts. Lots of laughter, and lots of fun. You know, I could have swore I heard Ray, CL and Mom in the other room, just visiting. God Bless
