Fun Time At The Lazy T

Wonderful summer day out on the farm. Getting up with the chickens (Barb) and driving to the farm just like CL used to do all of those summer days.  Working clothes on, great conversation and even a little snoozing. (Dale driving)  Larry got his pickup past 40 once and even looked like a farmer going to work.  Pickup full of cement blocks, plastic cover and plywood.  We met fellow farmer Watson in Manning and went off to do our chores.  (We did pick up coffee and snacks before leaving, just like Dad and Uncle Jim) Our mission was to find the well and fix the entrance to it so a dumb hunter (RT?) would not fall in. Everyone was surprised when we got out of the trucks and saw that Dale had his arm in a sling. I know it's an old trick and he has used it before, but he had a bad arm. (Sounds like my fantasy baseball team. I see it doesn't affect his golf game). As you can see by the photos, it took a while to find the well and dig it out.  Beautiful day, but hot, thankfully our superior conditioning made the difference.  (You know, those sit ups and stretching exercises really pay off) After the mission was competed it was time for rugged competition.  Dale brought his hand gun and a shooting contest erupted.  (WW stood a little too close to the target when Dale was shooting, but it showed the courage expected of a Shiloh Boy). As usual, the rules were changed half way through the contest. Dead Eye Dick was declared the winner, but the French judge ruled other wise. Larry kept getting closer and closer. Great fun. LT was afraid of being shot back at, so he hid behind a tree. We then went for a jog down to the end of the creek. Things are looking good. (Like we would have a clue) We then went on our annual tour of Defiance and had to hear the old stories again. After Bill's performance at ADM, you wonder how accurate those old stories are. A hearty farmer's meal in Manning topped off the wonderful summer day.  Dale drove and napped on the way back. Great time, summer sure is fun.
